For Madeline’s birthday (coming up in March) I’m going to re-do her room. Technically her room has never been “done” before, but I did have some baby stuff in there from when I first had Susannah.
Lame, huh?
So…I want to make it more of a big-girl room and something she’d like. I couldn’t settle on a theme but I did find some brightly colored bedding that I think she’ll like.
It has hearts on it, and I had some fabric that coordinated perfectly, so the first project I decided to tackle was a curtain for the window.
Here’s what I came up with!
I think it’s adorable!
The ruffles are so cute and girly.
Hopefully she’ll love it, too.
I’ll try to post a tutorial in the next few days.
It wasn’t hard but took a little bit of time (about four hours total).
I can’t wait to start the next project for her room!

perfect…looks like something the girls would want to “twirl” in.
Glad you are having fun with it!
Very cute! I always like to see your sewing projects. I want to sew some things but I’m a little intimidated. I know it is probably way easier than I think.
WOW!! That is truly beautiful!!! Only 4 hours.. really? WOW!
I LOVE this! I’m transforming a baby room into a big girl room too! What a fun idea!

Beautiful! What a great idea to have ruffles up at the window! So cute!
Love the colors! Beautiful…so spring like!
Love it! The ruffles are so cute! I picked up a fuzzy throw similar to that heart fabric for my daughter’s room at Target in the Valentine section of the housewares…it’s adorable. Now I want to find some fabric like that…you’ve inspired me!
The heart fabric is actually a curtain from Target!
I think it’s adorable – my daughter’s curtains look so lame, I’ll have to remember this when I’m making new ones
This is too cute! I love all the ruffles…. unfortunately I live with boys so I don’t get to make the frilly stuff….but I still dream about it! Maybe one day we’ll have a girl!
I’m hosting a favorite things linky party and would love it if you stop by and post something!
