One of my goals for the month of May (I’m still working on my list, but I’ll post it soon!) is to create new dress-up items for my girls each week.
I took the easy route this week, and made some simple felt crowns.
They may have been easy, but my girls love them and have been wearing them all day long!
All you need to create your own crown is:
Glue Gun
Felt
Scissors
1/8″ elastic
First, cut your felt into a rectangle.
The size of the rectangle will determine the size of your crown.
I made a few small, dainty crowns and a few goofy, larger ones.
Hot glue the ends together, draw triangles on top (if you want), and cut to make crown shape.
Cut off any excess on the bottom of the crown (I left the goofy ones really tall, and cropped the others).
Cut a circle out of felt to fit inside your crown. Hot glue the elastic to either side of the circle.
Push the circle inside the crown, put a thin strip of glue around the bottom rim of the crown (inside), and pull the circle down to the bottom.
Make sure the elastic is sticking out of the bottom of the crown.
This adds stability to the crown and holds the elastic firmly inside.
Pass out to any princesses that may be loitering nearby.
Love the goofy ones (crowns and kids)!
As usual, Bear-Bear shared in the excitement, too.
