Today we followed a tutorial by good ole’ Martha and made our own watercolors.
Madeline was napping, and Susannah and I squeezed this activity in between church services so we haven’t had a chance to test them out yet, but they were fun to make.

Homemade Watercolors

2 TBSP baking soda
1 TBSP white vinegar
1/4 tsp corn syrup
1 TBSP corn starch

Mix everything together – the consistency should be thing and goopy.
Add several drops of food coloring and mix.
Pour into airtight container and allow to dry overnight.
Repeat with more colors.
Use with watercolor paper, paint brushes, and glass of water.
We can’t wait to get our paint on!
