Want to know what’s cool about these ornaments?
They smell AMAZING!
Well, unless you hate cinnamon, in which case you’re just weird.

It doesn’t get much simpler than this one.
Mix 1 cup applesauce with 1.5 cups cinnamon.
Use your handy-dandy KitchenAid to make sure it’s really, really well mixed. You don’t want the dough to be wet at all.
(If it is, just add more cinnamon.)

Once it’s all mixed up, roll out the dough on a cinnamon-sprinkled counter.
Cut out cute little hearts.
If you’re like me and SOMEHOW find yourself without a tiny heart cutter, just cut up one of your ugly Christmas cutters you never use and re-shape into a heart.

And then after you’re all done, realize that you like the big hearts better, after all, and could have saved yourself all that work.
But whatev.

Use a skewer to poke holes in your hearts.
Bake on a cookie sheet at 200 for 1.5 hours.
Let cool, then add some string or twine and hang on the tree.

And sniff a lot.
