These coasters are super quick to pretty up and are fun to gift.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own set:
- Tiles from Lowes or any home improvement store (I think these were 3.5 x 3.5 and were about twenty cents each)
- Stamp(s) of your choosing
- Ink (I used Staz-On)
- Spray sealant
Starting with a clean, dry tile, stamp your image onto the tile.
The most important thing is to make sure you let the ink dry long enough. I always wait overnight just to make sure it’s not going to run.
Then spray with several coats of sealant, letting each coat dry fully.
I usually also add those little sticky-back, felt circles to the bottom to protect the surfact the tiles are sitting on.
Wrap with a ribbon and you have a simple, useful gift for someone.

So pretty (and easy, which I like). These would make really nice hostess gifts or maybe for a housewarming party.

What a wonderful gift idea. I love the natural look and the way you can customize the image or words!

I’ve made coasters with tiles from Lowe’s before but I’ve never thought of stamping on them!! Ah – I’m in love with this idea! We need some nice coasters for our coffee table (as much as I love having people over, I always cringe when a drink gets set down with a nice pretty water circle on top of our wooden table). I might have to go out and make these tomorrow.

Hi, I have started a gift & gift packaging blog to go with my online gift store & was wondering if I could use one of your images above with a link back to this tutorial on my blog? Thanks, it’s a great idea.

These are too cute and I think the stamp idea would also work great in conjunction with a mod podged photo if done right. Could I ask where you got your stamp from, it looks like an Ali Edwards maybe? I would love to try and track down this stamp for another project I’m working on if you happen to remember where it came from. Thanks so much for the great idea!

It was actually a studio g stamp from either Walmart or Michaels. They’re very afforadable; I think about $1 each.

Rebekah, these coasters are attractive, easy, and modern, and the project is really inexpensive, which is something I know our budget-savvy readers appreciate. We just had to link to your project in our DIY Mother’s Day gift list! From the above pingback I see you know that already, but I just wanted to tell you directly that we really like them! Feel free to reach out with any comments of your own :)
